Terms and Conditions – Mac Rentals by Macfixit Australia

1. Rental Period

1.1. The minimum rental period is 30 days.

1.2. The rental period starts on the day the Mac is delivered to the renter and ends when the renter drops off the Mac at AusPost using the provided return label.


2. Deposit and Rental Fee

2.1. A fully refundable deposit equivalent to the current value of the Mac (as determined by Macfixit Australia) must be paid via bank transfer before the rental begins.

2.2. The rental fee is charged on a per-day basis and will be deducted from the deposit upon safe return of the device.

2.3. Once the Mac is returned and inspected, the remaining deposit (after deducting the rental fee) will be refunded to the renter’s bank account.


Example:

•Deposit = $1,100 (value of the Mac)

•Daily Rental Fee = $5

•Rental Duration = 30 days

•Total Rental Fee = $5 × 30 = $150

•Refundable Amount = $1,100 - $150 = $950


3. Device Condition and Usage

3.1. Normal wear and tear is acceptable.

3.2. The renter is responsible for any accidental damage to the Mac during the rental period, including but not limited to:

•Physical damage (e.g., scratches, dents, or cracked screens)

•Liquid damage

3.3. The cost of repairs for any damage will be deducted from the deposit.

3.4. All accessories, including the original charger, box, and cables, must be returned with the Mac. Failure to do so will result in replacement costs being deducted from the deposit.


4. Data and Device Security

4.1. Before returning the Mac, the renter must:

Wipe all personal data from the device.

Turn off “Find My” to ensure the device can be processed.

4.2. Failure to wipe data or disable “Find My” may result in delays or additional charges.


5. Safe Return of the Device

5.1. Macfixit Australia will provide a prepaid return shipping label for the renter to use.

5.2. The renter must ensure the Mac is adequately packed to prevent damage during return transit.

5.3. If the Mac is damaged during return transit due to inadequate packing, the renter will be responsible for repair costs.


6. Late Returns

6.1. If the renter fails to return the Mac within the agreed rental period, additional rental charges will continue to accrue on a daily basis until the device is dropped off at AusPost.


7. Ownership

7.1. The Mac remains the sole property of Macfixit Australia at all times.

7.2. The renter does not have the right to sell, lease, or otherwise transfer the device to any third party.


8. Liability

8.1. The renter is liable for any loss, theft, or irreparable damage to the Mac during the rental period.

8.2. In such cases, the full deposit will be retained by Macfixit Australia to cover the loss.


9. Payment Terms

9.1. All payments, including the deposit, must be made via bank transfer.

9.2. Refunds will be processed to the renter’s bank account within 1-2 business days after the device has been returned and inspected.


10. Cancellation Policy

10.1. A rental booking may be cancelled before the device has been shipped.

10.2. Once the device has been shipped, the minimum rental fee (30 days) will apply.


11. Agreement

By renting a Mac from Macfixit Australia, the renter agrees to the above Terms and Conditions.
