Troubleshooting the WiFi Connection in Luna Display
Troubleshooting the WiFi Connection in Luna Display
If you're looking for an Astropad Luna product in Australia, please find them under this link
The Luna Display hardware unit should be plugged directly into the Mac or PC's port. If your primary Mac/PC and your secondary device are connected to the same Wi-Fi network, and the Luna Display apps are running on both devices, the connection should occur automatically. If it does not occur, here are a few things to check:
- Your primary Mac/PC and secondary device are on the same Wi-Fi network and bandwidth (5GHz versus 2.4GHz, for example)
- Wi-Fi is enabled on both devices
- The correct Luna apps are running on both devices
- No firewall or security program settings on your Mac/PC or network are preventing connection
Here are some steps that may help resolve the issue:
- Try connecting your Mac/PC and iPad via USB cable to help establish the initial connection, and then unplug the cable once connected
- Connect using Manual Wi-Fi connection in Luna Display
- Try restarting both devices (primary Mac or PC and secondary device)
- Restart your router
Manual Wi-Fi Connection
1. At the connection screen, click “Connect info” and a new window will show with connection options
2. Click “Wi-Fi Manual Connect.
3. Scan the QR code with your iPad or enter the numbers in section D into your secondary Mac.
Note: Your number sets may be different from this example.
Why are Wi-Fi connection and Manual Wi-Fi connection not working?
Local Wi-Fi networks use different routers, and each router is configured in its own way. It is hard to point to a specific reason why things are not working in your network.
Security software like antivirus, firewall, VPN on your Mac could prevent Wi-Fi connections. Security restrictions or settings on your router could also be the problem. Some routers disable Apple Bonjour which is the service Luna Display uses to allow Mac & iPad to find each other automatically. Some routers also disable connection within the same local network between devices. This effectively shuts down any possibility for your devices to talk to each other.
